Switched to rope for throttle

Been working on my Birel ART kart to make the throttle feel smoother, but the steel cable kept sticking near the pedal. It was a 1/16" cable and started to fray after a few runs. I changed it to a 1.5 mm Dyneema rope inside a soft sleeve and used a bowline knot at the carb and a loop at the pedal. It feels much better now and still looks good after three race days. If your steel cable keeps breaking, this setup might help

Nice solution! I’ve had the same issue with steel cables fraying on my kart, and switching to something like Dyneema sounds way cleaner. Using a bowline at the carb and a loop at the pedal is smart , keeps it smooth and reliable. I might give this a try next time my cable starts sticking.
