Building a water go-kart from a Yamaha GP1300R

My Yamaha GP1300R has a hull that's totally wrecked, so I'm stripping the engine and parts to build a go-kart. The toughest part right now is finding an affordable transmission that can handle 165hp. I'm open to CVT but prefer a regular transmission. I also need to sort out cooling. I've got suspension, brakes, steering, and electronics covered. Suggestions?

For handling 165hp, a good CVT designed for performance snowmobiles or ATVs could work and save some stress for you, but a heavy duty manual transmission from a performance car or kart might be better if you want more control.

For a transmission, you might look into older sport bike gearboxes as some can handle that power and are compact. As for cooling, a small aluminum radiator with electric fans should do the trick, especially if you're keeping it light. Are you planning to run it on the track or just for fun?
