Help with carb swap

I'm working on my Hammer head go kart (LE-150 model) and pulled the carb thinking I'd clean it out. Now I'm leaning toward upgrading it instead. Do the aftermarket ones that promise better torque actually make a difference and are there any online sources that carry them?

Upgrading your Hammerhead LE-150 carb can boost torque and throttle response compared to cleaning it. Bigger aftermarket carbs like 26mm or 28mm work well, but make sure they fit your engine. Check ebay or motorsport stores for options, and you should notice better performance.

What size carb would you recommend for the LE-150? Is 26mm or 28mm better for torque? Also, are there any specific brands that fit well without major modifications? I'm hoping to get this sorted before next weekend's race.
